Taking on new projects
W12 Systems is a software development and engineering consultancy. We design, build, and ship production systems for small businesses and technical teams: web platforms, mapping and data pipelines, computer vision, and the operations tooling that replaces the spreadsheet.
Products
W12 Systems is the parent company behind these products. Each one started as a real problem we wanted solved and now runs as its own brand. Open one to see what it does and how it is built.
Sports · Computer vision
Never miss a rally again.
Volleyball video analysis that detects rallies and cuts match footage down to the plays that matter. Custom-trained detection models running on real game recordings, delivered as a consumer iOS app.

Beverage manufacturing · Operations
Production management built for craft cideries.
Fruit purchases, pressing, fermentation, packaging, and inventory in one system, with cost-of-goods per batch reported on demand. Built to replace the spreadsheets a working cidery actually runs on.

Services
One team handles the whole build. No handoffs between an agency, a contractor, and whoever is supposed to keep it alive.
Full-stack applications built on Next.js and TypeScript: customer portals, booking and ordering systems, internal tools, and the APIs behind them.
Pipelines that turn field data into usable systems: drone imagery, orthomosaics, tile serving, and per-record databases tied to real-world locations.
Applied machine learning shipped into products, from dataset curation and model training to on-device inference and video analysis.
Replacing spreadsheets with software that fits how a business actually runs: inventory, production tracking, cost reporting, and role-based access.
Stack selection, system design reviews, build-vs-buy decisions, and hands-on help getting a team unstuck on infrastructure or delivery.
Documentation, deployment pipelines, and knowledge transfer so what we build keeps running long after the engagement ends.
Selected work
Client engagements across agriculture and hospitality. Every one of these runs a real business day to day, handling orders, bookings, and the records behind them.
Agriculture · E-commerce
Live
A working cidery and lavender farm on the Olympic Peninsula needed to sell online without running a second inventory system. The store pulls its catalog live from their Square point of sale, so what sells in the tasting room and what sells on the web stay in sync.
Hospitality · Bookings
Live · booking engine in development
A five-suite inn on the Olympic Peninsula, rebuilt off WordPress onto a custom site. A direct booking engine is now in development to replace their third-party reservation subscription and the per-booking fees that come with it.
Agriculture · Geospatial
Live
Drone-mapped orchards with a database record for every tree. High-resolution orthomosaics are served as PMTiles straight from blob storage with no tile server, and growers track variety, health, and history per tree.
How we work
We start with how the work actually happens today, not with a feature list. The best software fits an existing process before it changes one.
A deployed, usable version within the first weeks. Real usage surfaces the right requirements faster than any specification.
Managed databases, serverless compute, and mainstream frameworks. Fewer moving parts means fewer 2 a.m. surprises for you later.
Clear code, written docs, automated deploys, and a handoff you can hire against. You own everything we build.
About
W12 Systems is the umbrella company for a family of software products and client engagements, including BumpSetCut, a computer vision platform for volleyball video, and CiderPilot, a production management system for craft cideries. We are engineers first: comfortable with hardware and field data as well as the web, and used to owning a system from the first commit through years of operation.
Based in Colorado Springs, we work best with owners and operators who know their business deeply and want a technical partner who will learn it too. Engagements range from a focused build over a few weeks to ongoing development and advisory.
The founder
Founder & Principal Engineer
Ben founded W12 Systems to build the kind of software he kept wishing existed: tools that fit a real operation, run reliably, and are owned outright by the people who use them. He is a systems engineer by training and a product builder by habit, equally at home writing a tRPC router, training a detection model, or standing in a cidery figuring out how the press log actually works.
His graduate research on design-for-resilience heuristics for systems of systems was selected for presentation at the INCOSE International Symposium.
He captained his university men's volleyball team for two seasons, which is how BumpSetCut started: as a way to stop scrubbing through match footage by hand.
